The Bride and the Bridegroom
[A conversation between the Bride (us)and the Bridegroom (Jesus) By Candy Detweiler Bride: Your love paid a costly price, to remove my sin and shame. For complete wholeness of my being, Your stripes I now claim. There are self and man-made walls surrounding me now. But I agree with Your Heart, that they come tumbling down. Bridegroom: You counted the cost, and with Me you did wrestle; ‘Til My truths were written on your heart, My priceless vessel. Can you hear the distant sound of a heavenly choir? The Truth within is alive, and it’s calling you higher. Bride:
I have no words, my Lord, so hear my spirit contending. See the restlessness, the stirrings, in the fiber of my being. I hear You whisper, “It’s going to take a leap of faith— Just take the next step, and you’ll begin to see the path.” Bridegroom: Come My beloved, quench your thirst at My fountain. Feel the pull, the draw, to come up to My mountain. The invitation has been given – to in Me – abide. Heaven kissing earth in you – My beautiful bride. Bride: You beckon me Lord, to steal away with You — To hidden chambers where You make everything new. Assuringly, You speak of love that will never depart. While You gently peel back the layers of my heart. Bridegroom: You long to know Me fully – press deeper into My Heart. But to know the One you love – you must know who you really are. Bathed in My Holy Light – you see your blackened condition. Though outward weakness appears – pure within are your intentions. Bride: I draw all that I need in the presence of Your love. Experiencing You in fleeting moments is no longer enough. Crying out from the depths of my being, words I don’t understand. Eyes fixed on Your lovely face, bypassing what’s in Your Hand. Bridegroom: You who runs swiftly – to the ‘All’ that will make you complete — Whose tender heart desires to beat, in time with My own heartbeat. I give you My gifts – but for more of Me, you gently lay them aside. To one who loves Me such as this, My Heart I will surely confide. ***Psalm 91:1-2*** He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Source:
